Cooking dinner can be a time consuming process, though it is necessary for survival and at some point in everybody’s life, they need to do it! Cooking dinner does not need to be an extravagant parade of culinary skill though, in fact some of the best dinners are the simplest ones.
Simple recipes are great because not only are they easy, cheap, and tasty, but they often times are quick too.
In a video posted to YouTube, chef Nicko from Nicko’s Kitchen demonstrates how to make one of the world’s fastest dinners ever, Nicko’s chicken casserole.
Believe it or not, you only need these few ingredients to fill the bellies of four people:
- 2 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of white rice
- 1 can of celery soup
- a packet of French onion soup seasoning
- 2 roughly chopped onions
Seems pretty simple right? Well the steps are even easier!
As with all chicken, start by giving the breasts a good rinse under the sink to wash off any nasty things on the surface.
Begin your casserole by spreading your rice out into a glass casserole pan, making sure it is evenly distributed. Then, lay the chicken breasts on top in an orderly fashion.
In another container, mix together your celery soup and onion soup packet, along with two can fulls of water (use the celery soup can).
Once the soup and seasoning is emulsified, add in some salt and pepper if you like. Once you are ready, pour the mixture over your chicken and rice.
Now, add in your chopped onion, and stick it in the oven for 2 hours at 325 degrees.
How simple is that!? It really can’t get easier than this.
